Silverwater Labs guarantees the puppy for its lifetime against the following hereditary conditions:
CNM – Centronuclear Myopathy
DM – Degenerative Myelopathy
CY – Cystinuria
EIC – Exercise-Induced Collapse
HNPK – Hereditary Nasal Parakeratosis
PRA-PRCD – Progressive Retinal Atrophy
If a puppy is diagnosed with one of these conditions, the diagnosis must be documented by a licensed veterinarian and confirmed by appropriate genetic testing when applicable.
For 180 days from the puppy’s date of birth, Silverwater Labs guarantees the puppy against a serious, life-threatening congenital or hereditary defect.
A qualifying condition must be diagnosed in writing by a licensed veterinarian. Silverwater Labs reserves the right to obtain a second veterinary opinion or have the puppy examined by a veterinarian of our choosing.
If the condition is confirmed and covered by this guarantee, the buyer will be eligible for a replacement puppy of the same sex and color from the next available appropriate litter.
This guarantee provides a replacement puppy only. No cash refunds or reimbursement of veterinary expenses will be provided.
Silverwater Labs guarantees the puppy against hereditary hip and elbow dysplasia until 25 months of age.
A diagnosis must be supported by appropriate radiographs and written findings from a qualified veterinary radiologist or recognized orthopedic certification organization.
If qualifying hip or elbow dysplasia is confirmed, Silverwater Labs reserves the right to obtain a second veterinary opinion.
If the condition qualifies under this guarantee, the buyer will receive a replacement puppy of the same sex and color from an appropriate future litter.
The original dog must be returned to Silverwater Labs before a replacement puppy is provided.
At the time of delivery, your puppy will have received age-appropriate vaccinations and routine deworming. The buyer will receive information regarding vaccinations and deworming already administered.
The buyer is responsible for establishing ongoing care with a licensed veterinarian and maintaining appropriate vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition and routine veterinary care.
Do not administer additional vaccinations within seven days of receiving your puppy unless your veterinarian determines that immediate vaccination is medically necessary.
The Silverwater Labs Health Guarantee does not cover conditions or expenses including:
Unless specifically stated otherwise in writing, puppies are sold as pet-quality Labrador Retrievers, and no guarantee is made regarding show or breeding potential.
The buyer agrees to provide appropriate nutrition, exercise, housing and routine veterinary care throughout the dog’s life.
This guarantee may become void if the dog is subjected to abuse or neglect, is significantly overfed, is bred contrary to the terms of the purchase agreement, or if a covered condition results from injury rather than hereditary or congenital causes.
The guarantee is also void if the dog is sold, transferred or given to another party without written authorization from Silver Water Labs.
To make a claim, the buyer must provide Silverwater Labs with written veterinary documentation describing the diagnosis and supporting test results.
Silverwater Labs reserves the right to:
If a puppy dies within the applicable 180-day guarantee period and a genetic or congenital condition is suspected, a veterinary necropsy must be performed to establish the cause of death before a replacement claim can be approved.
When a condition qualifies under this guarantee, the buyer’s remedy is a replacement puppy, not a monetary refund.
If an appropriate puppy is not immediately available, the buyer may select an eligible puppy of the same sex and color from a future litter.
All transportation, shipping and veterinary expenses associated with the original or replacement puppy remain the buyer’s responsibility.
If the buyer declines the replacement puppy offered under the terms of this guarantee, Silver Water Labs will have no further obligation regarding that claim.
By purchasing a puppy from Silverwater Labs, the buyer acknowledges that owning a dog involves routine and sometimes unexpected veterinary expenses. Except for the specific replacement-puppy provisions described in this guarantee, those expenses remain the buyer’s responsibility.
